Two days in a row, Dr. Ghosh—who is on an extended leave of absence per a court order—was questioned by the CBI. He was questioned on Friday and Saturday till after midnight. Today at eleven a.m., he was called upon once more.

The following is a collection of queries that Dr. Ghosh has already been asked:

  • Dr. Ghosh was questioned by the CBI on his whereabouts the night the internist was sexually assaulted and killed.
  • The news agency PTI stated that he was also questioned about who told him about the incident. The CBI authorities verified his account by comparing it with the testimonies of other medical professionals who worked that evening.
  • Inquiries were also made to the former principal regarding his initial response upon learning of the doctor’s passing.
  • He was also questioned by the CBI about who he asked to notify the family and who called the police.
  • Dr. Ghosh was also questioned over the chest medicine department’s weekly roster, which frequently placed the physician on a 36–48 hour shift.

Dr. Ghosh gave some complicated responses, according to a CBI officer cited by PTI.

About forty people have been put on notice by the CBI to be questioned in connection with their investigation into the rape and killing of the trainee physician. Police officers and physicians are included in this.

A written testimony from the mother of Sanjoy Roy, a community volunteer who was detained the day after the doctor’s body was found on August 9, has also been recorded by the authorities.
