No matter how hard The Umbrella Academy tries to ignore it, a talk about Sloane’s absence is inevitable in season 4. The Umbrella Academy on Netflix quickly eliminated each Sparrow after introducing them in season three, leaving just Sloane and Ben to represent the Sparrow family in the season three finale. Sloane was the only surviving member of the Umbrella and Sparrow academies not to be moved into the new timeline, and their numbers were further diminished when Allison carried out Sir Reginald Hargreeves’ plan to reset the universe.
Sloane is hardly mentioned in The Umbrella Academy season 4, and Genesis Rodriguez’s character is absent from the last several episodes. Regarding Sloane’s disappearance at the end of season 3, there are no particularly noteworthy disclosures, and Luther apparently failed to locate a different version of her in the timeframe of season 4. Major issues concerning Luther’s missing wife remain unanswered in the final season of The Umbrella Academy, which is strictly a no-Sloane zone.

Sloane Was Never Included In The Timeline Of Umbrella Academy Season 4
It’s evident from viewing The Umbrella Academy season 4 that the Sloane who wed Luther was never included in the alternate history. The precise cause is yet unknown. Perhaps Sir Reginald just took advantage of the chance to get rid of Sloane as well, as he chose not to bring back the lives of other deceased Sparrows such as Alphonso, Marcus, and Jayme. After all, the Sparrow Academy siblings treated their new father in an oddly brutal way. Alternatively, Allison might have insisted for Sloane’s disappearance into the global reset due to her unresolved love for Luther.
Furthermore, it doesn’t seem likely that a different Sloane would exist in the timeline of The Umbrella Academy season 4. Since Sir Reginald had succeeded in establishing a world in which Abigail survived, it makes plausible that only the siblings from the previous timeline are depicted in the universe of season 4. Thus, there was no justification for marigold children in the season 4 chronology of The Umbrella Academy. Lila, Ben, and the six Umbrella siblings might not have been saved by Sir Reginald if Allison’s arrangement hadn’t been made.

Luther Quit Attempting To Resurrect Sloane
Luther exuded the air of a man who would do whatever it took to win his wife back at the conclusion of The Umbrella Academy’s third season. Luther appeared committed to bringing Sloane back, even if it took going above and beyond in the new timeline or persuading Sir Reginald to reverse Sloane’s abduction. Luther clearly gave up during the six years that separated The Umbrella Academy seasons three and four. There’s no indication in the last season of how long Luther looked for Sloane or that he asked Sir Reginald to bring her back.
Indulging in a world of do-it-yourself projects and g-strings, Luther just accepted that nothing could be done, which was detrimental to both his moral principles and his emotional relationship with Sloane. Their close bond made for a captivating scene in season three of The Umbrella Academy and represented a rare example of a happy dynamic inside an otherwise chaotic household. Luther should have flipped The Umbrella Academy’s new timeline around in order to bring Sloane back, never giving up until he succeeded, given the depth of his love. That doesn’t happen, for whatever reason—time constraints, story convenience, etc.
